Elektronique Launches Friday 29th October 2010

Elek Tronique™ BIOGRAPHY

Elek Tronique™ is a new electronic dance music magazine TV show/documentary; ‘Docu-Zine’, which focuses on genres; House, Techno, Electro, Drum & Bass and Dub Step. The show is built around a series of interviews with various music artists; DJ’s/producers/MC’s within the above genres from various places within UK and across the globe.

Our show and project is purely about the music, the people who produce, mix and promote it. The original concept of the show was to document and showcase artists, venues, events and labels, only within House, Techno, Dub Step, Electro and Drum & Bass music. We wanted to feature artists from various musical backgrounds and not just all the well known ‘superstar’ DJ’s but with also new DJ’s and producers who have recently come through. This variety of artists, genres, backgrounds, production techniques and music style is what Elek Tronique™ respected and wanted to showcase.

The original concept of the show was created in May 2009 by our producer & director who then started to build the Elek Tronique™ crew and develop the idea by September 2009. A couple months after and the production began with our first shoot on 21st November with James Lavelle at Custard Factory, Birmingham. We then continued to shoot our guest interviews throughout till this year with our last interview shoot on 17th July 2010 with Reboot at Sankeys, Manchester. Within this production period we captured 62 featured guest artists for our first series. The first episode of the series features guests; DJ Sneak, Sub Focus, Nic Fanciulli, DJ Marky, Heidi, Virus Syndicate and John Dahlback. Episode 2 will be released a couple weeks after launch with artists; Mauro Picotto, Noisia, Simian Mobile Disco, Aphrodte, Caspa, Rod Azlan, Rosie Romero, Wonk and Rossco.

We have captured these interviews and them performing at some of the biggest events and venues throughout the UK, such as; Warehouse Project, Parklife Festival, Sankeys, Ministry of Sound, Custard Factory, Apollo, Bugged Out, Back To Basics, Metropolis, Ape, Colour, Carnival, Chibuku, Tribal Sessions, Eastern Electrics, Nation, Meganite, Saved, Cadenza, Oh My God, Kaluki, Religion, Disco Electronica, Detonate, Heidi Presents Jackathon, Oh My Dub and more.

Within our interviews, we talk to our guests in detail about their music, their genre, other electronic dance genres, their musical influences, background, their DJ, production style and techniques, the hardware and software within the studio now and the past, up coming events and music releases etc. These interviews are presented in an informal, relaxed and conversational style and approach. All our interview presenters are DJ’s, producers and working within the music industry, and only present guests from their genre background or similar. This was a must with Elek Tronique™, as presenters had to have a lot more than just knowing such music and genres. They had to relate with the guest and feel confident within music it self through their skills and experience.

The Elek Tronique™ series is the main feature of our project which includes 7 guest interviews within every episode. The ‘show edits’ last approx 6 minutes each, and act like highlights of the guests full interviews which can also found here on our site. The full interviews are there for you to watch specific artists from specific genres which, gives you a greater insight to the artist and their music.

The project exceeds from just being a TV show with interviews, as the site supporting and showcasing the production also includes various other media; Photography, Illustrations, Podcasts, Vodcasts, Merchandise, Guest & Presenter Profiles, New DJ’s and Producers Music, Events listings, Venue & Label Info, Links etc. All this combined with the show, is what defines; Elek Tronique™.

All this will be released; 29th October 2010 on www.elektronique.tv
